I was rather curious regarding the addition of the wheel bolts, wondering what they actually screwed into, looks like the drum?

I am pretty sure looking at the photos that the adapter wheel bolts screw into the adapter plate. There would not be enough thickness of metal if they just screwed into the drum.

Initially I thought that was part of the drum, now see it's obviously a spacer. Not sure I'd be happy with the arrangement as the countersunk holes look too deep, leaving very little spacer thickness being secured to the actual drum.
