I am a slight convert as I run the Uttlesford Branch's FB page having had request from younger owners we come across at car meets etc. as to whether we were on face book. To be honest, the Morris Minor Owners fb page is a damn sight easier to post to than this one, although there are some really abusive people with anger management problems who intervene in reasoned discussion.

If it allows the branch to reach more people I am all for it.

PS the photos are really worth seeing, takes me back to my childhood.....

Much as I'd like to 'spot the Minor', I'm not going to be drawn back to f/book either. Life has been so much more pleasant since I abandoned it! :)

Well unlike others, I'm already active on fb, but I'm getting an error message:
The link you followed may have expired, or the Page may only be visible to an audience that you aren't in.

Suspect it's a closed group you've linked to.....

I am still feeling my way in this tech nightmare. Try searching for 'Uttlesford Morris Minors' It is on our page which should be open to everyone or 'Uttlesford Morris Minor Owners' I will copy stuff across !

Lets see if this works. I know that sometimes Forum pages can corrupt long links like the ones used by facebook.

Stumbled upon this whilst searching for something else this afternoon. Might be of interest. Shame the number plate isn't readable.

There are two there, one behind the other. And, it's in Longbridge!

The van seems to have Lucas 'pigs ear' indicators on the roof and side windows too. A Herald and two Vitesses under the canopy. The Farina A55 Mk.2 to the left looks like a Countryman estate car unless the long roof-line is an optical illusion. Looks like an Imp behind the petrol pumps. Either they're wondering where all the coolant went, or they're trying to put fuel in the wrong end!

Hmm..Hillman Imps...could quite fancy one of those. My mate at university had a Singer Chamois (posh Imp). The engine glowed red at night after a run to the pub.

My mate years ago had the 'sporty' one (Sunbeam Stiletto) which used to send showers of sparks out of the tailpipe under hard acceleration

My Dad had a Commer Imp Van.
Basically, a van was a lot cheaper than a Husky estate for tax reasons, so he brought the van, cut out the bit of the load bay that covered where the rear seat should be, and installed his own hand made plywood, foam and vynil bench seat!!
