54 new purchase

Not that 4 minors isn't enough, but i have purchased yet another one. Its a 2 owners april 1954 4 door in birch grey, standard car with 57000 miles. So no heater, no passenger's sunvisor, no overriders and has its original vinyl interior. It still has its original reg and 803 running gear throughout. It is a berkshire car and i purchased it in Oxfordshire and got it transported home to Northern Ireland. It was mildly restored and professionally resprayed in 1997 and never completed nor been out of his garage since. Hence number plates not even refitted. So far i haven't found any nasty surprises, there is still original birch grey paint under the carpets :D. It will need recommissioned with everything needing checked etc.

Is there any chance of the dimensions and maybe some better photos of that envelope? I've been making replica labels etc for Minors and this is a new one for me.

Cheers

Rob, what are the other replicas you have been doing. I have made the regulator one from a photo on here and would be interested in any more you have produced - including the envelope above. I have seen here and on the MM forum, a bonnet pull label, but have not been able to get hold of one.

PS NMP plate has cleaned up a treat and we are sourcing the mould material, but difficult to get in small enough quantities. Most people seem to want to sell it in industrial size batches !!

I have a series II bonnet release label if that's what you mean, should be easy to replicate;

They were a nightmare to make. I found a local printer willing to make beautiful copies but they would have been £5+ each so that was that! I made a cheaper version and still have to get wad cutters to make the reinforcing rings and then get the string. They take a long time to sort out so they are not at the top of my list at the moment. I'll get round to knocking some up in a month or two, if anyone wants some.

Well after 4 months in storage, I've finally got the 54 and the other minors into the new garage. I have been tinkering on the small things until i get round to start working on it properly.

Try these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/420-x-Manill ... rmvSB=true

and these for the strings?

Biggest issue is finding the right sort of paper in the right sort of thickness. I've had good results with the insides of Scotts Porridge Oats packets since they take the ink quite well but are too thick.

Taupe. How is the Traveller coming along??
