Clutch. Morry thou in 1952 Morry

Hi,
So have this Morry (George) which is the first Morry i have ever owned.Love it. Clutch is a bit of a handfull though.I think pressure plate maybe shot. Its very shuddery and very quick in reverse ( all or nothing ). I see it has some sort of steel rod made as a push arm underneath.i guess thats there for the thou motor and box conversion. Clutch does not slip though. Just very hard to drive. Anyone else be thinking pressure plate, Cheers Steve.
