Hello peeps! I have a Lucas type wing mirror on each front wing. The driver's side one is fine and useful - I can see what I need to with it. But I am not sure what I am meant to see in the passenger side mirror. Mostly I see the hedgerow flying past, which is of very little use.
So, what is the most useful view to see in the passenger side wing mirror?

I would suggest that you need a view of whats happening alongside and just behind you. Example... when moving off from traffic lights to turn left, could you see a cyclist between your nearside and the kerb, especially one hell-bent on going straight ahead? When reversing into a parking space alongside the kerb, could you see a small child stepping off that kerb?

No prob. I'm a retired London bus driver, where the majority of buses have two doors (front entrance and exit midway down the bus) and where the cab is enclosed by anti-assault screens. The interior rearview mirror is used for two purposes (1) to ensure that passengers are seated before leaving a bus stop (some chance of that during rush-hour) and (2) in conjunction with a forward-facing mirror near the exit to ensure the exit is clear before closing the doors. All left-turns and right-to-left lane-changes are conducted using the nearside exterior mirror. Its importance is such that an 'on-the-road' mirror breakage renders the bus undriveable (Union recommendation).

Mirror tweaked and the view now is much more useful
