Hi all,
There is a new car in the family. Darcy was last on the road in 1987 and is in a bit of a sorry state :(

Managed to get the majority stripped in a day
I have a good frame of wood to replace the rotten one but i have to get the welding sorted first. Looks like its just sills, part of the crossmember and rear wings. But who knows could be more lurking in there.

In the grand scheme of things im thinking of personalising this car a little. Not anything drastic just modifying the visual appearance of the car. Im thinking of painting the engine white and red to match the body and interior. I already have a box standard traveller as a daily driver.
I would love to hear your thoughts.

I'm admiring the view, not the traveller! :D

Given the A-series reputation for annoying oil leaks, I'd go heavy on the red and easy on the white for the engine

Are you keeping the Rostyles??? (Please say you are!)

Thats sound advice for the engine i didn't think about what it would look like after its been driven for a bit haha.

unfortunately the rostyles belong to my sisters 1275 midget that also needs restoring. the wheels that were on it are very rusty and the tyres didn't inflate at all so i pinched the rostyles just so i can move it around with ease (You should see a midget with morris minor wheels it is hilarious  ).
i am thinking of getting a set later on down the line but may just paint the originals red to stand out a bit.
i was taken aback at how good rostyles look on a minor but occasionaly i catch the car at an angle that makes me think that the wheels look a tad small.

Unfortunately not much progress on Darcy today as i discovered that Harvey, my daily has a very rusty spring hangar. So i have been stranded at home painting bits of the engine and trying to free the master cylinder (didn't succeed).

Will try and get some pics up tomorrow.

Hi all,

Unfortunately all i have managed to do recently is remove the engine and paint it up.
I think it looks good but needs a touch of finishing off.
It does look VERY cartoon like in the photos. Looks a lot better in person.
Will update when i get more stuff done on her.
Here is a picture of my dads project (almost welded up now)
