Period radio speaker

I've just acquired a half-decent transistorised Philips car radio to put in Max. Its only LW/MW and single speaker. Its probably a bit new for Max (its circa 1960). I'm guessing that a period speaker would be in some kind of box, covered with vinyl or similar and mounted on the parcel shelf. Has anyone got such a speaker fitted? If so I assume I'll have to fabricate a box and I'd appreciate a few pics if anyone can post some. Many thanks.

or here including creating your own with vintage style cloth for the grille

Thanks FD. I think the speaker assembly will be too large. Will probably have a crack at making my own. Got a plan to use the grille/facia off an old Roberts radio.

My car has a single Philips speaker in a platic box with a grill, It was a nice looking casing but the internal speaker was rusty and dead, I just put an old speaker from a surround sound set up in i had ready for the bin, The sound was way better than i expected, Since then i have made a few for VW owner friends using a grill from old door cards and base made fromsteel or aluminium covered with vinyl and a modern speaker from a car.

In my pickup I fitted a speaker to a bit of plywood in the hole under the dash pocket so it’s not seen, not the loudest position though.
