Tuning for Speed - Phil Irving

When I built my supercharged Holden motor as described in this section under 'Other hobbies and passions', in my post of Mon June 19 2017, I had access to a copy of this publication. It prooved an invaluable source of information. I have since tried to obtain a copy for many years without success. Never having given up, tonight I googled 'Phil Irving Tuning for Speed' and up came a site with a downloadable copy. See the first link. This guy is a legend, being amongst other things responsible for the design of the Repco Highpower Head for the Australian Holden 6 cylinder 'grey' motor, and the Repco motor installed in the Repco Brabham F1 racer. This motor was developed from the alloy block of a 3.5 litre Oldsmobile motor down to 3 litre capacity for F1. Despite having to race against the likes of BRM H16's and Maserati and Ferrari V12 motors, the motor installed in Repco Brabhams enabled Jack Brabham to win the world F1 championship in 1966, and Denny Hulme (a Kiwi) to win the same in 1967. Hope the download in the first link proves to be of use and the other links to Phil's escapades of interest.
