I've searched the forum but haven't seen any mention of modern paint equivalents. I'm interested as I've a set of wheel rims i want to paint, which should be old English White, and whilst i can get this from the usual suspects, rattle cans from halfords are easier and cheaper to get. Question is how close are some of the current car colours to OEW, especially for wheels where the car body colour is not the same. A trip to Halfords at lunch came up with a range of whites - Citroen Polar White, BMW Alpine White, Peugeot Bianca White, etc, and i passed a Citroen which i assume was Polar White, which was definitely off white, a bit like OEW. Anyone tried any of these successfully?

If you're going to paint a full set if wheels I'd suggest that you pick a white shade that suits your taste, but bear in mind that, if you seek accuracy, wheels and grille should match. To muddy the waters further, I believe your car is 1968. According to Ray Newell's book, from October 1967 onwards, grilles were painted Snowberry White and wheels were 'dark silver' (painted at the Dunlop factory).
