Anti Roll Bar Questions

Ive never really understood or considered the 'mod' of an anti roll bar before but my father in law keeps on bringing it up ( I think he's worried im going to kill his daughter....... like id let her drive my Moggie! )

Ive seen ones like this on several sites: http://www.gsjones.co.uk/modifications- ... r-kit.html

Has anyone done this and does it make a noticable improvement to the handeling?
Any thoughs, insites or experiance would be greatly appreciated :)

They wallow a bit naturally but you should not need this at the speeds they normally do.

I have had the anti-roll bar fitted to the front of my minor for many years on both on road and track and it does help reduce body roll even at normal Minor speeds.

I would also reccomend fitting one. Even my MM tourer goes round corners with hardly any roll. A slight adjustment to the camber angle also helps keep tyre wear more even. 8)

What's wrong with a bit of roll? No Mog rolls like the Renault 4L we once had, and it was enjoyable once you understood it. A couple of weeks ago down the Rhone there was a bit of a 2CV "doo" in one of the towns and I saw several deux-chevals being driven energetically around the roundabouts. Looked good fun to me!
I like my roll, regards, MikeN.

Hmmmmm Mixed opinions on the roll bar front, I should have set this up as a poll!

Having a poll does not stop roll. 8)

Mike
The 2CV has a different suspension configuration to the Minor in that the front and rear suspension arms of the 2CV move in a fore and aft arc where as the Minor front suspension and less so the rear suspension moves in a transverse arc.
Having owned and driven two 2CVs it is possible to throw them about with near impunity as the centre of gravity is so low.
Lovely jubbly.

Iv put yes tho I don't have one and probably won't be fitting one. Even if you drive slowly you a anti roll bar will still come in handy if you need to swerve out the way or misjudge a corner. Worth while if used regularly. Remember most if not all new cars have them. You can't go wrong with Phils advice.

Cheers Steve

A poorly worded poll, I'm afraid. It is not a case of 'should' or ' should not'. More a choice of preference one way or the other.

I'll add my name to the should option. I daresay the suspension could be made so stiff that the ride is uncomfortable, but IMO some added anti-roll control is not a bad thing.
