AUD662 carburettor

Post by GavinL »

I'm in the process of sorting out our 68 saloon, which came with twin SUs from an MG Midget and a big bore exhaust on a standard 1098 engine. I've replaced the exhaust with a standard exhaust, next is the carb/s. I've got a standard manifold, can I fit one of the AUD662 carbs which are 11/4 HS2 to the standard manifold, and if so any ideas on jet and Spring?

You can use one of the AUD662 carbs.
The following link covers the needle / spring / main jet size required:-

Standard AN needle should see you right.

Use the search facility on here as regards connecting the breather tube on the AUD662 to the engine breathing system.
The carb breather pipe connection is directly above circled number 62 in the link below:-

Thanks, I've got two pairs of AUD662 carbs, so I'll select the best correct handed one and replace the needle and Spring. I've got a brake servo but I've got spare spacers I can modify to provide a vacuum connection. The AUD662 has a breather connection which on the Midget goes to the timing chest, but I've obtained a timing chest cover with oil trap so assume the carb breather can connect to this.
