Hi can someone please give me some advice on what to use on my woodwork?
Oil or varnish and also where's best to purchase the complete kit of channels for the sliding Windows, thanks.

Osmo oil without a doubt! I scraped all the old stuff off Monty with a Skarsten scraper (no need to sand afterwards usually) and then applied two coats of Osmo oil. The clear UV protectant variety. The wood looked fantastic afterwards and water simply beads up on it. The oil allows the wood to breathe so is infinitely superior to varnish and also to many other oils on the market. A £30 (ish) tin did two coats on the bare wood and I still have about a quarter of it left. I certainly wouldn't use anything else.

For what its worth I've been after a traveller for some time now [and yet to find a decent one in terms of condition and price] and if one was treated in oil, the wood that is , I would have the preference and buying it before a varnished one.

There's been so much discussion on this over the years....not sure there's anything else to say.
