Oil Sender
Has anyone found their new oil sender won't thread in all the way? Purchased a new one from Wares but it has around 3-5mm of thread exposed when tight.

Re: Oil Sender
Tapered thread??
NPTT thread is tapered and I think that the sender may be this pattern.

Re: Oil Sender
The oil pressure connection at the rear of the block on an MM is 1/8" x 28 TPI BSP. Richard's (Islip Minor) thread table at the top of the mechanical section lists the oil sender thread as 1/8" NPT 27 TPI obviously for the A Series block. It would pay to remove the fitting supplied by Wares and use a thread gauge to check that it is actually 27 TPI.

Re: Oil Sender
From your description the oil pressure switch appears to have a taper thread - the thread in the block is parallel.
If that is correct the oil pressure switch will only screw into the block by 4 - 5 threads (as per the picture below (oil pressure gauge take off adapter)) which leaves some thread exposed.
