Will a marina gearbox mate to a standatd 1098cc morris engine? I assume not but just wanted to check. Struggling to find a ribbed 1098 gearbox thats not junk or overpriced.

They can be made to fit, but are much heavier than a Minor 'box. I think you need to change the engine backplate, flywheel, clutch, probably propshaft, etc., etc., so a lot of work just to fit a heavier, albeit probably stronger, four-speeder...

I thought as much. I'll stick to finding a standard 1098 box.

Marina 1098 vans had a 1098 engine with a special crank that mated straight to the Marina flywheel and gearbox. Nick Bastier has one.

I really can't see what advantage there would be.......I had 2 Marinas when they were modern cars and the gearbox gave trouble in them both! I've never had any trouble with the Minor :D .
What is "overpriced" for a secondhand Minor gearbox? Surely they can't all be overpriced?

Does give the options for Auto box and overdrive, though. :D
