diff oil

Hi,
Halfords gear oil EP 75W/80 GL4 okay for 1968 Morris minor Diff??
I know it says to use EP 90 but cannot find that locally, does it make make difference?

Halfords do an 80W/90 GL-4 that would be better than the lighter weight 75W/80. They do either their own brand or Comma.

EP90 freely available around here. Do you live even more out in the sticks than us?

Mind you,l get it from the local agricultural engineers. Guess it's used in lots of older tractors etc.

A straight EP90 is also fine - just make sure that whatever you get is GL-4, not -5. The -5 version is reputed to 'eat' yellow metal very quickly - there are bronze thrust washers behind the diff planet wheels.
