As part of renewing my complete braking system I'm fitting a Powertune remote servo. I'm fitting it close to the bulkhead on the offside, just above the floor and below the damper. To keep it unobtrusive I'm trying to tuck it as near to the bulkhead as possible, but this means that the outlet pipe from the servo nose would need a very sharp bend. I'm thinking instead of fitting a banjo here, with a plain banjo bolt, to allow a right angled exit. The nose is is intended to take a male 3/8 BSF pipe union, but it is machined flat externally, rather like where the banjo fits on the m/c. Would it be permissible or safe to use a banjo here, sandwiched between copper washers?

Yes.seen it done in lots of vehicles..just make sure it's oil-tight/leak free and with the correct centre fitting

Thanks John. It looks the correct thing to do, but I'm not all that well experienced on brakes and a second opinion is very valuable.

I endorse John's advice. Follow the Servo fitting instructions , especially the "angle ".
When renewing / replacing any joints in the braking system , being a belt and braces man , I like to use something like
Sealey Air & Brakeline Sealant 50ml Code SCS 572 ( or something similar from a recognisable Manufacturer ).
