Getting a bit bored with what's on the telly these days and have watched a few old programs lately. Today I have seen a traveller on The Avengers and a saloon on The Man From Uncle. Nice to see.

It might be cool to have a sticky thread to post moggie sightings in film and tv.

I and others use the 'spotted' one. If you look carefully at the film of Ice Cold In Alex supposedly set in 1943 North Africa, towards the end as rah truck, Katie sweeps around a crescent near the bar you can see three early Morris Minors rather incongruously parked up. They are either prototypes, involved in a tear in the space time continuum or the continuity chap was asleep.

Not having my reading glasses on at thetime I was particulary taken by the film "They do it with minors" for all its intersting connotations - only to find that it was mirrors, not minors.

WE have Rosamunde Pilcher films which are shot on Location in Cornwall and DEvon using , sometimes quite well known, German actors. You get the Impression from These episodes that everyone in England drives a Morris Traveller

I could waste some serious amounts of time going through these. Amazing number of Foreign Films. Best known is probably Delicatessen.

I wonder how many of the earlier films have cars which are still on the road ?

Episodes of The Sweeney are good for spotting Minors in London too!

The early Doctor fils were also a source of good Minor viewing - (Those with James Robertson Justice and Dirk Bogarde)

What about Minors in Fiction - Most recently Rene Airth's 'The death of Kings' where a female charger - Village Doctor obtains a hard to get Morris Minor in 1949.

Love the 'get you home' tyre device. I wonder how long you could drive on it and how long it lasted, It does not look hugely robust? The driver seems to stop quite frequently as if unsure of what is happening.

Nothing remotely like it on the internet - It says 'Patent Pending' on the ramp and something further down which I cannot decipher. Do you think the old boy at the end is the mad inventor ??

I once towed a shopping trolley behind a golf cart for a mile or two (don't ask!) and the wheels melted.

I would guess the wheels overheating would be the major drawback.

Just seen Nurse Gladys Emmanuel's White G reg, running rather rich with a clattery timing chain and a dropped OS door on Open All Hours. (Yes I know they used several white minors)
