Fuse question

Hi all,
I have a question about the ampage of fuses used in the fuse box of my 1968 traveller. I've seen both 35 and 10 amp fuses used. Is there a certain ampage used for certain circuits say 10 amp for the horn/interior light circuits and 35 for lights?
Second to that question is it advisable to fit any third party fuses for added "peace of mind" of so is there a common addition/location they are fitted? Any information will be greatfully received :D
Many thanks,

Tom,

The two main fuses in the engine compartment fuse box are both 35A (continuous rating 17.5A) and in the later cars there is an inline 10A fuse protecting the side light circuits (the fuse is close to the dynamo voltage regulator).

Any additions made to the car should have their own inline fuses, as there is not much capacity left in the two 35A for continuous running.

Thank you IslipMinor for the advice, I will go and check the fuse box is fused correctly.
