Win a Restored Morris Minor for £2!

Post by dmg991 »

Here at the Morris Minor Centre Birmingham, we have just launched a very exciting project and I hope you don't mind me posting about it here. We are restoring a lovely Morris Minor, named Glenys, with the help of Fuzz Townshend from Car SOS. The Moggy was donated to us by a lovely gentleman, who asked us to donate the money we would have paid for the car to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The car is named after his late wife.

Through the project we are aiming to show the younger generation how Moggy’s can be practical cars for today’s roads and so Glenys will be restored with this in mind, with various safety and modern day "upgrades". Once the car is restored, we will be raffling the car off for a charity local to us, the Primrose Hospice. The work will be completed over the next six months and the car will be raffled off at the hospice’s Christmas fayre at the end of November; throughout the entire restoration we will be selling raffle tickets, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Primrose Hospice at the end of the project.

Raffle tickets can be bought from our trade counter, or online through our justgiving page where you can also read the full story.

Great idea and fully support it. Hopefully the CAR SOS team will not bodge it the way they did with the Traveller wood in the Morris they rescued. I appreciate the time contstraints for the rally programme but some of the body gaps were not great either.

Someone else noticed then! You'd think they would fix the bit that was wrong, rather than adapt the timber to fit the bodge! Even now I can't think why someone would do that. Better luck this time, a good cause.

Come on chaps, put the grumpy bit to one side and put your hands in your pockets for some tickets! It's a great gesture from the company and Fuzz!
And we all know that tv stuff isn't real, don't we?
