Morning all, I recently discovered that my lil 69 saloon has a midget 1275 under the bonnet and although i came here to verify that information and wanted to update my insurer (flux direct) on the modification. However they are asking for verification that the engine is what i say it is in writing and i was curious if there was a way to get this in writing via the club or my local branch (dorset)? Heres a link to the thread i put up to work out what 1275 i actually have in there and any help on the matter would be very appreciated. Cheers!

I would consider that you have enough evidence in the link to present & verify that the engine is a 1275cc Midget/Sprite type.

All I can suggest is that you change your insurer.

Yeah I agree I have tried to notify them, I have told them the make and model of the engine and don't really see the necessity to have a garage verify it!

are they not just asking for you to confirm in writing of the change,so they can place confirmation on the file, in theory you need to notify any change or addition of anything that wasn't on the car when it came off the production line. I've dealt with flux for years and never had a problem with them ,I did various changes ,engine , brakes and wheels to one of mine and all they asked for was my confirmation in writing, didn't want engineers reports or anything else from me. But suppose if you told them you didn't do the engine swap they may not be able to do that, because you are unable say that it is what it is.
What about sending a photo of the marking on the block.
You may find that you will have the same problem with any comp, they will want the same level of proof.

Try printing the engine code thread and posting it to them.
