Radiator warning notice

Hi
Continuing the restoration of my 1962 duotone saloon, I have just replaced the radiator.
Trying to keep originality can anyone tell me when the radiator warning notice - 'Warning open cap slowly' came into being. I know it was common on 1098cc engines, but did the earlier models have it on?
Any advice welcome thanks. Tye

I can't give you a date when it came into light however that message isn't present on my convertible Minor 1956 however it is present on my 1968 traveller. Sorry I can't be more help but I'd say later than 1956

I've been looking for the stencil myself after having the engine and gearbox out to rebuild and paint. The stenciled writing on the radiator is the only thing I haven't been able to do.

I have actually got a stencil. My question is really did the 948cc engines have the warning or did it come later with the 1098cc engine. Trying to be accurate I don't want to put it on if it didn't have it in the first place. Cheers Ty

Didn't we have this discussion a few years back? Maybe worth searching the old threads?
