Re: Why Deluxe and Standard Morris
The standard models were generally very basic, with early cars having no heater, only one windscreen wiper, sparce ultra-plain trim, etc.
Deluxe models (signified by a 'D' on the chassis plate, e.g., 'MAW5D...' typically included such niceties as a heater, duo-tone or leather seats, better trim, ashtrays, parcel shelf below the dashboard, sunvisors, etc.
Of course, there were optional dealer-fit extras also, such as radio, door/wing mirrors, mudflaps, chrome tailpipe trim, wheel rimembellishers, radiator muff and so on.

Do you Mean the two models , just selections to the customer with extra parts ? because i follow this problem , when i notice all morris models, someone not overrides someone has - when start to attach overrides to the buffer ? ( only morris minor and factory fitted )

Re: Why Deluxe and Standard Morris
Then there were regional differences. For the States, both standard and deluxe had overriders parcel shelves, and heaters. Deluxe received two sun visors and stainless steel door frames along with leather seating surfaces. That basically applies to the 948 models. In the 61 to early 64 the difference was basically just duotone seats for the deluxe. After 64 I think the States only received the deluxe.
