Our car has been a 1098 Traveller for the last 14 years. I have undertake most of the work myself including engine & gearbox changes. I have a VW Transporter for longer journeys but am considering replacing that with a Morris Minor Van and fitting a bigger engine - perhaps a 1275 and a 5 speed gearbox - for longer journeys. Obviously I have no desire for high speed cruising but wish to know what would be achievable with that format - or should I plan to fit a different engine/gearbox combination? I would be grateful for opinions.
