Good evening, new to MMOC and just joined, apologies if this has already been asked/answered elsewhere.

Picked up a nice Minor with seats (cherokee red) in good condition.

Although not filthy I've given them a good clean, how do I restore the glossy look since they are a bit matt, or it just an age thing.

If it's just a dull aged look and you want to keep it's natural patina, which can't be bought at any price, then just a light scrub with a good detergent should be fine. There is an aerosol called "vinylcote" which is a spray available in various colours that claims to "restore" the vinyl to it's original colour although I've never tried this before but I'm sure some one on this forum has and will give an unbiased account shortly. I have seen a couple of minor seats in the past that have had this spray treatment done to them and I found it to be rather artificial [contradiction in terms I know] for my liking but each to his own.

I havent bought it in a while but Son of a Gun made a great product for vinyl, just be aware it makes the seat more slippy!! Another one, again havent bought in a while is Armorall, it came in a small sponge and was great for things like dash switches or the screen rubbers.

Any of the leather treatments you can buy for old leather chairs work really well. Try your local antiques shop?

Ps. Assuming that they are leather, not ancient mock leather.

Check out the product Gliptone it produces gets great results.

Mine is a 1966 which I take it is vinyl (red) ??

Probably an artificial material unless the original owner specified leather or the seats have been changed.
