The rear left wing on my traveller has rusted and now has bubbling and a hole.
How difficult is it to replace with a fibre glass wing or would it be more advisable to try and repair damaged wing?

In theory it's simple: Undo bolts that hold wing to nut inserts in timber arch. Remove wing. Fit new wing and tighten bolts. Of course, how easily the bolts come out is another matter. You can grind the heads off. As long as the wood is sound then any good scrw type fixing can be used to fit the new wing. the piping should stay in place, but if not then a few tacks will hold it in place whilst the wing is fitted. One other thing to watch is whether the wing has been welded to the closing plate ot other part of the metalwork.

Usual safety precautions with the grinder , gloves , goggles etc.. I assume no petrol leaks from your fuel tank ?
Cover up anything that might get damaged by molten metal flying about particularly paint work , wood and glass.

Good advice. Try plenty of Plusgas on the nuts/bolts first and work back and forth, you may need a helper with a second spanner on the other side.

A second spanner might help with captive nuts in a saloon, but completely useless in a Traveller where the fixings are buried in the wood and not accessible.
