MG Metro cam

Post by bmcecosse »

Good news for anyone interested - today I fitted an MG Metro cam (much better timing than standard) into my spare 1098 engine - it goes straight in, but uses the later (much better) peg drive oil pump - which also bolts straight on the back. It comes with 5 mounting holes - to suit all the different combinations over the years - and three of them are perfect for the 1098 in-line block. I was expecting to have to drill and tap new mounting holes. BTW - it needs to be the short-nose version of the peg pump, the long nose is for the long 1275 block.
