Bear with me, I don't understand why someone would post using a foreign language being fully aware that most won't understand it. I presume this is what's called spam. What is the purpose of it ? Please explain the thinking behind it. Maybe I should know but I don't.

Just assume it is indeed 'spam' and report it. Then go and have nice cuppa instead of trying to understand the ideas behind such postings!

I like a cuppa but not at the expense of finding answers. Of course it would be easy to do as you suggest but I would then be non the wiser

Les, some people find it funny to post eronius postings on forums, some people even get paid by website owners to direct people to there sites via email or postings on forums. Some infect and hold users such as yourself to ransom by infecting there computers with encryption software after clicking on links sent in emails or links on websites.
The bottom line is that you need to be really careful on the web these days as things are not always what they report to be.
Hope this offers some explanation!

Les one morning there was pictures of naked ladies on !!.I don't like the idea of having to email for pictures etc when they are low posters as they need your email address to send them and they could be scammers .

Yes - always think twice about giving out your email address.
If you don't need to, don't do it.

My worst one was a few years back getting finance info. A few quotation sites wanted my email address - at least one of them was selling email addresses to the spam companies!

When a reputable company uses your contact details to send adverts, there is a simple method to opt out. When your addy ends up on mailing lists used by the spammers it's a pain!

There are a lot of sad cases out there and I don't know that my mind isn't sufficiently twisted, to understand their motives. I saw the weird posts and my only guess is that they hoped someone would sent them a shirty message and that somehow they would be able to perform some scam, by having obtained someone's email address.

I should like to fill a cement lorry with the contents of a sewage farm and empty it through the front door of a spammer's house, with the message "Have back some of what you have sent!!!"
