Floor cracks

I pulled the carpet up today. Had to, really, after I left the door open all night during one of the biggest rain storms in ages. Must adjust the door latch.
Anyway, After removing the new underfelt I found 2 cracks that are just about to join up in the areas shown below. The black tar paint makes a decent photo of the car impossible at the moment.

It looks like the new floors that were put in a few years ago by the previous owner had some unresolved issues with flexing and now useage has made the cracks expand. I guess every time the seat was sat in it would make the panel 'pop'. The gap under the longest bit of crack is big enough to get a finger through.

Interesting thing is that it passed an MOT last week!

I've been ignoring this problem for a while but it is now in need of attention. I have a crack in the drivers floor. It originates from the right hand side seat mount. The floor will bellow like an oil can, but now also causes seat to lean noticeably.

has anybody else had this problem? Any suggested repairs? I dont want to replace the floor (it is difficult to get such panels in aus) but it is also rust free.

If I just weld up the crack, I'm unsure if the floor will be stiff enough so the seat doesnt move around. Unless I shirnk it with the oxy after mig welding floor?

Any suggestions welcome.

The panel isn't rusty, in fact there is gleaning metal under the sealant. I'll cut a large enough piece out to clear all the extended cracking area and also to relieve the oil-canning. Typically, the MIG and the 5-foot bottle are both at the back of the workshop behind an immobile Austin.

Oh, and the seats are bolted down with 5/16 UNF nuts. Grrrrr.
