Sierra Type 9 5 speed box is grating in 2nd gear. It doesn't jump
out of 2nd, so I suspect it is synchro. Would I be right in thinking
that it is the synchro that has gone?
What would be the rough cost of repair, and any recommendations
where I could get it done?
I would dearly appreciate quick response.

If you say where you are,Liz, someone may be able to recommend a local gearbox expert.

Is clutch adjusted properly and all linkages and transmission mountings in good condition?

Just to be sure, is it noisy when in 2nd or just when engaging 2nd?
