Mounting of Smiths heater blower assembly

Hello all,

I've a got a Smiths heater blower assembly, picture below and the plan is to use it as a fresh air intake connected to the demister vent outlet.

Does anyone know where the assembly should be mounted and where should the intake hose be placed? I was thinking perhaps somewhere on the right hand side (O/S, RHD) next to the front grille, and the motor assembly on the bulkhead below the voltage regulator, on flat surface next above the damper.

Btw, it's a 1957 4 door Saloon.

Comments appreciated.

Cheers,
Chris

From memory, the Scandi cars had that (Spridget) motor mounted with the outlet pointing towards the regulator and a curved hose going downwards then forwards to the hole in the grille support panel. It was screwed to the side of the engine bay somewhere alongside the dynamo with the motor end pointing upwards. Not much spare room in there! :D

I don't have the book handy to photograph it.

This is the more powerful blower and is mounted in the engine bay.
