Indicators flashing frequency?

My '69 Traveller was in for its inaugrial test and inter alia, the tester noted that the indicator blink frequency is too low. Has anybody any idea what the frequency with a Standard flasher unit should be? I can easily replace the Standard flasher unit but presumably, it either works ( which it does) or it does not - the rate of frequency would never falter?

The rate should be between 60 and 120 per minute.
Search on the forum for "irrational indicators " for an earlier reply of mine on the potential reasons / solutions.

Did the tester check the indicators while the headlights were on and the engine was ticking over? Chances are the battery voltage had dropped making the indicators flash slower than normal.

The UK MOT Inpsection Manual covers the point about the engine running (but does it in Germany as well?):
Note: It may be necessary to run the engine when checking the flashing rate.
AND:
they are not adversely affected by the operation of any other lamp.
If the earthing is poor, they can be affected by other electrical loads.

thankyou for that - i will check of course.
In fact, i have never noticed any difference between driving and with ignition off. I am Aware however, that there is a pause between Switching indicators on and the first blink so you Need to indicate earlier than with a "normal" car.
Otherwise there is no unreliability in the System.
