I would like to fit electronic ignition (lumenition) to my car mainly for reliability(i am not a mechanic by nature). Sorry if these are stupid questions but 1. will electronic ignition work with a dynamo (negative earth, well serviced with new battery) and 2 can I still use the starting handle. It has been so useful a few times. Couldn't find this after a search but apologise if this question has been asked many times before.

Oops forgot to add- car is 1098 (1969) with an unleaded head, and the system would be the magnetronic system as advertised in minor monthly.

Lumenition worked fine on my Traveller with dynamo, now have alternator. The engine started using the handle for a period when the starter motor failed. It's only supplied for negative earth operation on a Minor so if your electrics have been changed from positive then there should be no problems.
I think others have had failures with the Lumention unit, including myself. But to be fair the exchange I fitted has been faultless for about four years now.
