Has anyone got any ideas I can try many thanks.

You could try the ignition leads (to the distributor and the spark plugs). You could try the spark plugs. You could try the coil. Alternatives are a poor connection somewhere or a mechanical problem not associated with the ignition system.

Do try to diagnose the fault before spending unnecessary dosh on a possibly perfectly good item.

Is this a miss at tick over, or throughout the rev range? What colour are the plug electrodes? Is the coil getting excessively hot? Are connections secure and not corroded? Check under the bonnet for sparking, when dark and while engine is running. Even a loose spark plug can be the culprit.

Many thanks for reply. Think I have found problem have got spares of everything so started swapping. Rotor arm ok cap ok plugs new champion and still missing then had to purchase new leads and it appears they are the culprit. Will try and give it a longer run at the weekend but it hasn't missed since fitting them, use it every day so will soon notice. I've found over the years that after market electrical items are very poor quality so annoying. Have found distributor doctor and a place called powerspark to have been the best for me. Many thanks.
