generally it is not a major issue to use the MG 1275 engine and box in place of the 948cc Minor 1000 (Morris Minor 1000 - I presume you didn't mean MM which is the 1948 - 1952 Minor), or also in place of the later 1098cc. The gearbox is very similar to the 1098 ribbed case box anyway and fairly interchangeable.
The Midget clutch is reputely pretty tiresome in a Minor but if you convert to Hydraulic operation, or change the lever ratio by redrilling one of the arms you can get smoother clutch operation.

If you mean the 1500 engine & box forget it, the engine is not very strong and is Triumph based with a gearbox that was a redesigned Marina one, the whole lot is regarded as a poor package and I cant ever remember seeing one fitted to a Moggie.

If you mean install the 1275 in your Minor 1000, then from memory you just need to use the front plate from a 1098 engine (might be the same as the 948?) and then you may have to reshape the timing cover breather, but that's about it.My next question is there a kit to install this engine and trans in my mm?
As Kevin says -if it is the 1500 then forget it.
There is someone selling a 1275 A+ engine on here for £50 (good price) which is from an Ital. The A+ is a slightly better engine and as it is similar to the early 1275 it is not much more difficult to fit.
