Still hunting KBX475. Sadly my 81 year old dad is getting more poorly and I would love to find the traveller before it's too late. I know it was recently SORN'd again. Any help hugely appreciated...

KBX 475 split screen 1953 early traveller bought new in Carmarthen S.Wales. Clarendon grey with red interior. Sold in about 1978. Help me bring her home!!

Have you contacted the "S11 Traveller Register" & the "S11 Saloon,Tourer & Traveller Register"?

Try Bryan Gosling, believe he started the former.

I run the Series 2 Traveller register, and sadly I haven't any details on KBX 475
Bryan handed the register on to me and all records from the early 1980s onward are on there now.
Al least if it is sorn on a regular basis, then it must still exist.
Good luck in finding KBX, but I am afraid I can't be of anymore help

If it has been T&T'd within the last few years, testing centre number is quoted - maybe able to rough location via this - remember, persistence killed the cat in a golden basket!

I don't think so. I think you'll find it is the MOT certificate number NOT the test station number that is quoted.

Not sure now, but I did a check on a Minor reported to me as being seen in (Perth?), using the number (what I thought was the test stn no.) came back as Dundee.

I am going to try them but an emotional search for a previous car is not listed as a reason to pass on details!

Tell them that you have information on the early history of the car. That might swing it.

Worth a go!

Get a set of old keys onto a keyring and add a tag with the numberplate on it. Drop the keys off at the nearest police station with a note tied to it with your name and phone number saying "I found these in the carpark. Can you let me know if these keys arrive safely?". The police might get it sent via the last known address in the DVLA system, especially if you stick it in a package with a stamp on it.

Sneaky, but it might work.
