fan blade
Can anybody tell me if the radiator fan should have just two blades or four.A mate said on his minor it had 4,whereas mine which came with the car has just two.My car is 1958 traveller and fitted with a 1098cc engine.

Re: fan blade
Thanks Panky and Les,I am ok then. One more question, the small spacer which has the same holes as the blade, does it fit underneath the blades onto the pulley,or on top of the blades,I have put mine underneath the blades, but I have seen a photo showing it on top ,not underneath like I have fitted it.

Re: fan blade
The spacer is not a spacer but is a stiffener plate Pt No: 2A803 and was fitted in an attempt to stop the fan blades cracking when only the 1/4" set screws were fitted.
It is fitted in front of the fan blades so the fan blades are positioned between the stiffener plate and the water pump pulley.
An additional blade Pt No: 2A241 was fitted for tropical use so giving qty 4 blades.

Re: fan blade
The stiffener plate should be on the outside of the fan to add some support to the blades.[frame]

Re: fan blade
Thankyou once again,I had my doubts,I will change it round to where it should be,when I think about it it is obvious why it is there and where it should be fitted. Thanks again.
Re: fan blade
Just ONE blade. Which obviously has two arms to keep it balanced.... Note that a Mini blade cannot be used - it pushes air rather the pull required for a Minor.
