Oil Primer Plug

G'day All,

Does anyone reckon you could take out the oil primer plug and put an oil temp sender in there? My concern is that the passage is too shallow for a capillary and oil flow would be constricted.

Any thoughts?

I would advise against attempting to put anything into the oil pump priming plug hole for exactly the reasons you have given.
If you must have an oil temperature gauge you may like to consider the adapter in the link below which can be fitted between the block and the oil filter head.
There are adapters and unions available from Minispares that can be utilised - see the links below:-

The flexible hose required is also available from the same scource

There are various other solutions but they do require some engineering works.

As above - don't block the flow of oil!
