I can't get to my van at the moment, can anyone help me with the width between the wheel arches In the loading bay please?

Good timing for that question Les,as I've just removed the body from mine!
39 inches between the inner arches in the body load area, and 10 inches in the "wheel space", as I didn't know exactly which you meant.

Are you sure it is not 39.4 inches - just enough to squeeze in something measuring one metre?

Metric hadn't been invented then! ------but a comfortable fit for something a yard wide!

Could be a fraction bigger, but I have welded some repair sections in that area and erred on the side of caution

Good idea but personally, I doubt that in 1953, BMC were thinking that far ahead
