Rear Dampers

Just had the satisfying task of replacing the oil in front and rear dampers and the difference with new oil was amazing.(also all the bushes on the front) Much more effort to move the arms. however, on the rear the drivers side drain nut was larger (7/8ths W) and had a side entry filling point whilst the near side was 3/4W and top access point. Is this normal or has some sort of bodge go on in the past. I ask as the effort to move the near side with the smaller valve is greater than the other. The dampers in all other respects look exactly the same. I look forward to your expertise and comments.

Unusual - but if it fits and works... Be sure to use SAE40 oil (NOT 10W40)in all the dampers for very best performance.
