Hi Guys, Im finally getting round to fitting a radio this weekend.
Both the stereo and the speakers will be out of site under the dash but I was wondering where the best place would be to pull the power from?
Even better, is there a good 'dummies guide' anyone could recommend??

When I installed my own radio, I took power from the switched fuse at the fusebox (with a second 4A inline fuse). Ground to body, of course.
Most older radios without woofers take very little power, so you could get away with connecting up at the fuel gauge (depending on year).

Most radios require 1 "always on" positive, 1 switched positive and ground, so easiest would be to get the two positives from the fuse box like Fingolfin says. Just make sure the cables go through a grommet where they go through the bulkhead to avoid any short circuits and you should be fine.

Depends if you want the radio without the ignition on. If so - take power from the fuse block with the lilac wires for the horn, and fuse the lead again with a 5 amp fuse - obviously the car needs to be neg earth if a modern radio.
