Hi

Having realised that my fuel tank sender is incompatible with my speedo, I started looking at my speedo and seen that the tpm is 1376. My question is which speedo should I have? I know this speedo is a replacement. The car has a series 2 chassis number (fae11/411445) but has a 948cc engine (8G163a and N57756 are the numbers on engine). The diff has mowog on one side and BTA548 on the other. The tyres are 155/65 14. I apologise if this is too much info or not the right info. All help appreciated so I can fit a more accurate speedo.

Thanks Gavin

155/65 is a strange tyre for a Morris 1000 ! I hope not on the standard 3" wide wheels. You have the 4.22 final drive so the tpm is near enough for normal tyres (145x80) - but you will need to compare rolling circumference of your tyres to the 145x80 tyres. Just check the speed against the sat nav on your phone !

Thanks for your reply. I will compare tyres and check the speed next time I'm out.

The tyres I have give a larger circumference and diameter by 5.5% thanks

Larger ? Even though they are lower profile......... I'm surprised. But 5% either way is well within normal 'tolerances' on Minor speedos !

I apologise. I misread the results. The proper tyres would be 5.5% bigger.

Take a look at the 'speedo identification' info about a third of the way down the page here: http://potteries.mmoc.org.uk/Identify.htm
