Hello all,
I have just found myself a 2 door Minor! I am 6' 5" and so I would imagine that I am out of the standard seat adjustment range??Is it possible to move the runners back without any problems/
Thanks,
Ian

Being not of the particularly tall variety I'm not sure how far back they go. But the seat does have alternative mounting points - remove the four bolts holding it in - and physically move the seat back - I think there's 2 positions (off the top of my head) - allowing you a bit more legroom...

...Dunno if it'll be enough!

I'm 6' tall and have no problem without having the seat at its extreme, so I guess it will depend if your legs are disproportionally long ;-)

Anyway... What Minor have you got (SeriesII or Minor 1000). The seats are different between them but both should be ok.
Presuming it is a Minor 1000, it has 2 sets of seat mounting holes so you need to make sure it is in the rear set of holes. Then make sure the seat adjuster is freed up (often they stick). Unlike modern cars you push the lever down (not pull up) and it works better when you are not sitting on the seat.
If you don't find an adjuster - check the passenger seat in case they were put back wrongly but if neither have an adjuster then you have 2 passenger seats (that's quite common as the drivers seats tend to get more wear and tear). If so you'll need to find another drivers seat.

Well the Series II seats are much nicer ;-) as the back is nicely shaped.
The Minor 1000 has the standard BMC seats as per all their cars of that era with a flat back.

My 57 has series 2 seats on sliders (ex disability car) - these seem to give enough legroom for an 8' person! My 69 (and Eleanors 69) also have seats on sliders (also ex-disability cars) but these were more like the Minor 100 seats except they were redesigned to be even less comfy :-( Even so, they give a huge amount of legroom adjustment and I think the seat will go back to the rear seat (not on the raymobile as everything is rusted solid or rotted off )
