Hi, guys:
I have a 1275 A series engine and I need a gasket kit, and I want to be sure I get the right one. I have a Moss catalog, but I only see parts for 1098's. Can i get it from another supplier? Wonder if there's a USA parts suppliers I can use?
Thanks in advance, as always.

You really should search under MG Midget 1275 or Marina.
Here's the link to Moss Europe

Whilst the standard issue head gasket is adequate I would recommend the fitting of the head gasket as listed in the attached link:-

If you want a full gasket set see link:

There must be suppliers of MG parts in California - just get a 1275 set from them and save horrendous shipping costs. Yes - the copper gasket is better for an engine that has been modified for more power, and if you can get one locally - then go for it. Otherwise a standard set will be fine for your engine.

Thanks, guys! Moss Motors USA does have 1275 parts for Midgets. For some reason, the valve stem seals kit show intake only. Do I only need intake? Shown below. Thanks again.

I source all my 1275 parts from British Parts Northwest, out of Washington state. (Living in Missouri, I, of course, have no connection with them - I just think they're good.)

The exhaust is left without the seals, oil around that area is more help than hindrance.

As above - the exhausts need the lubrication with unleaded fuel . Top-hat seals are only fitted on the inlets. And be sure to use 15 thou gap on the exhaust valves.

I thought I would Just throw this into the conversation after looking at the BP North West parts link:-

My neighbour had to take the head of his MG TD which had been installed with some form of sealer - it took several days to raise the head.

Seriously - a wipe of grease is all you need.

It's extremely common in the States for parts houses to sell that stuff. I work in a local auto parts store, and we carry several brands of it.
