Hi All,
Can someone let me know the size of the stencilled warning letters on the radiator fan guard plate?

Neither of mine seem to have stencilled letters. Probably been painted over at some point. Sorry.

I think it should be fine, but if it's not you can find the stencil here:

It's really easy to do, just mask the area, apply some spray paint, wait for it to dry and peel everything off carefully. That's it!

The Bull Motif item is one use and throw away, also they charge ridiculously high postage for what is basically a small sticker.
A kind club member has supplied me with a very high quality laser cut acrylic stencil which can be used over and over again for a decent price.

If any club members would like to use the stencil I would be happy to loan it for the cost of postage out and return.
PM if interested.

So continuing with the "cooling fan colour dilemma", I went and bought the rad warning stencil from ESM. I seem to remember it was a grey/yellow colour? Anyone have a pic of an original car with it? Thanks.

Pretty sure it’s white lettering on my car but mine is a replacement radiator. I do have the original radiator somewhere…..
By the way, I was joking about the fan thing. I actually had stickers made specially for my heater as the ones available had the wrong code number on them!

This was an ESM radiator as supplied 10 years ago. My original is too difficult to get at right now but I think the lettering is pretty illegible or has been painted over. The green coloured overflow pipe is correct. My original has that same coloured pipe (I can see it where the radiator is on a high shelf).

My car doesn't have a Warning stencilled on the Radiator, but I've now got a High Top Rad to replace the later one that is currently fitted (car is SII).
As there's been discussion about when the Warning was first applied, I thought I'd take a look through Ray's Original Morris Minor book.
The only image of a Rad with the Warning is on p89, showing a 1098 engine with Elephant Trunk heater, so I'm guessing post '63....
There also a Radiator Pt Number change around that time according to the Parts List.
It changed from ARA 97 or ARA 101, to ARA 213 at car 1072761.
Now the change might have been the addition of the warning , but it's anyone's guess after all this time.
I just know I'm not going to put the warning on my new High Top radiator, despite ESM putting it on all theirs....

Reminds me of this sign that I saw in the USA when I was working out there. It was put up in the new car park of a USAF base I worked on...

The same week they completed a new road junction and put this sign up....

Even the base works dept staff couldn't understand this one when I called them about it...

But we shouldn't go off on a tangent about daft signs... Perhaps another new topic in the Off Topic section
