Set of new tyres that have been stored

Good evening friends

I don't think I will probably like the answers to my question, but here goes -

In August 2004 I purchased a set (5) of brand new Firestone Tyres for my mog. I got them at the time because
of the excellent price.

My restoration has taken far longer than ever I estimated. The tyres have been stored in a dry location and look perfect.

I have read somewhere that we should wary of fitting tyres that have been around a while. In my case 12 years.

I am safe to put them on the car or should I replace please?

Ty

My recommendation is to replace them.
The best way to store tyres is off the car but on the rim, over inflated by about 15/20lb and then kept in the dark but only for short periods at that - not the near 12 years as your post suggests.

If they have been stored in a dry/dark place - I say they will be fine. Inspect the sidewalls for any minute cracking - but I'm sure they will be fine. The tyres on both my cars were far older than that!

The tyres from my MM were much older, and I was still driving with them the first weeks after finishing.
These came out :[frame]Image[/frame]
Anyone knows how old they are?[frame]Image[/frame]
Some small patches, but only 2 times a year needed to refill ;)

I kept 2 of them the others are at the shop from the guy who mounted them.
