evening all.

after the two 130mile runs one weekend after the other, Henry developed a bit of kangarooing on a short run yesterday. the only way to run at the start was to pull the choke fully out and keep the revs up. did a bit of investigating today and i think i may have found the culprit (photos below).

i take it this would cause a problem and i should replace the rotor arm? if so, i've only had this one for 1000miles or so, so could there be something wrong with my setup at all?

Doubt it -and how would the choke help ???? You are only 'bore washing' when you do that -severe ring/bore wear. Just rub the surface clean -and look elsewhere for the problem. Sounds more like fuel to me if thew 'choke' (which isn't really a choke) helped. Rev the engine up and clamp your hand over the carb intake - this will suck away any blockages.

good point! still learning the ropes and how everything is interconnected. by carb intake, i take it you mean to cover the hole for the air filter intake??

Better the carb intake directly I think - and at the same time you can check the rise/fall of the piston.
