Lifting vehicle for greasing

Seeing a recent topic on lifting the vehicle (asked by Stuupnorth) got me remembering someone who did greasing of the infamous bottom trunnions. He had a bar that lifted the front wheels evenly by lifting under the lower trunnions so that grease could be forced into points that cannot be done whilst car is on the wheels. Has anyone else done this and if so, any sizes etc?
When I saw this done it meant that the wheels could be turned on the steering so that grease could be well packed in.
