Rear window frame rust

What do you think? Is this terminal and what is the best course of action? It's similar all the way around.

No doubt about it, the window needs taking out and this fixing now.

Remove window by cutting through rubber, use wire brush in drill on outside and inside if it's also corroded (after removal of headlining). It probably will be rusty inside as water sits in the rubber and gets held against the steel on both sides. Give it all a very good sanding down, go slowly and be very thorough.

Last one I did, I took photos, it wasn't nearly as bad as yours, I used rust converter in the craters after getting all the visible rust out, then filler to fill craters and tiny holes, then more rust converter painted all around inside and out, then many coats of primer. It was going into a body shop shortly after so I wasn't too worried about the top coat.

Don't leave it as is, it will ruin the car for sure.

At worst you may need to cut out the section and weld in a new edge strip. You certainly can't leave it as is....... Watch Edd China doing it on an MX5 on Wheelers...... Is it really Edd doing the welding........ ?????

Yeah, you’ve got one. But ultimately they are all one.
