In my car, and the spare parts, I see different hinges from the side windows, but which one is original for the MM??[frame]Image[/frame]

The lower one in the picture looks the same as the top one but the end has snapped off so has had the mounting hole redrilled and the sharp edge cleaned up  :P

My may 1951mm has no external hinge showing. don't forget BMC had 1000s of doors all prepared ready for the production line and some would have whatever hinge setup was in the door production line fitted to them.[frame]Image[/frame]

you have to open the window complete, to see this part.
And because both sides are the same, and all is chromed, this does not look like a local modification.

The earlier cars had no external hinge, Im pretty sure the external hinge came in around the same time as the 4 door production started and its the bigger hinge in your picture. This changed sometime later in series 11 production to the smaller hinge, I know its after June 1954 as Stevies car has them and my May 1956 didnt have them! :o

Looking on the old pictures from the 1950 car, one of them was also without external hinge, the other side was without hinge, so not interesting, I think.
But the small one can be the one for my (later) 1951.
The only problem is, I have two, for the same side... :x
