I've rubbed down the woodwork...... Now the question is do I wood stain or Danish oil?

Lots of historic stuff on this Mac..and lots of opinions. Osmo oil is well regarded, I've not yet tried it myself. If the car is kept in a well ventilated garage Danish oil will probably be fine but need redoing regularly. Cars left outside,well that's a different thing again. I'd certainly suggest treating the wood with Cuprinol 5 star before you do anything else.

Thanks for that..... Is Cuprinol 5 a clear wood treament ? or would it stop the oil penetrating the wood ? I really have no idea!

Yep the Cuprinol is like water, it soaks right in. Give the wood a few good doses and let it dry out thoroughly before you use the finish of your choice. I like Osmo oil personally.

I read the Morris Minor Traveller by Ray Newell and the sections by Steve Foreman of Wooddies was brilliant. They do more wood than anybody so I followed their advice and am very pleased with the results. I think they may help you with a fact sheet if you contact them?
